Papa bear turned 90 yesterday so I am home for his birthday celebration. I'll be preaching at my home congregation in Branford on Sunday and we'll be trying to bring him out for the late service at 10:30. It's been 12 or so years since he has had the chance to her me preach at Tabor where he and all his kids grew up.
He was born on the first presidential election that women were allowed to vote. Family lore has it that my grandmother didn't go to Grace New Haven for delivery until she went to vote.
