yes I did. I really tried, and found that I could not. "Why"? you ask..I answer, "I am too distracted"
Response: What on earth could distract you, radylady from your beloved Huskies?
Answer...today distracted me.
Question..what is it about today that makes your brain spin and lack focus?
I had a great coaching...sang the two arias sung by the Countess from Nozze de Figaro, and did really well considering how ill I have been...but that wasn't it..
I am going to see a wonderful dance production this evening choreographed by my favorite Mark Morris at the former NY State Theatre at Lincoln Center (and have to miss the game, dang it)
No, not that either.
I know what it is. Today is the 50th anniversary of the assassination of JFK. The papers are full of photographs, the news has many stories, the New Yorker, everyone is talking.
The loss of a promising leader. The lengths people will go to in order to silence someone who had so much influence on a people, on a country. I was a very, very small child when he was murdered, but I remember my parents crying. I remember how quiet everything had become. And, I remember watching that funeral on the television.
It's been 50 years.
