71 in La Jolla

If you live up on the side of Mt Soladad where the streets begin with Rue and Via, I hope you freeze from a drafty chill tonight!

It was reported that 20 spectators passed out from the heat this afternoon at the New Britain High School graduation ceremony.

At my house it is 98 with heat index of 105. I am not a high heat fan, not at all.

Sounds like a Johnny Carson routine to me!

About 97, but feels hotter, say, 200.

We have a BYer in La Jolla? Nice!

103 here in Tucson. Fine and dandy. Possible 109 later this week.

All kidding aside, I would be happier if the A/C didn't just develop an issue. Cooling, just not as much. Gets into the 80's inside, cools down overnight. $900 labor to replace a TXV and indoor coil, apparently a warrantied "unit" with my conditioner. Just about 6 days to receive the part, so . . .

It's 66 here in Lompoc. We rarely get really cold or really hot here.

quite toasty on the links this morning in western mass. yesterday in the oven that was maryland , near d.c. , my son did a "hundred hole hike" for charity. started at 5:30 am, and played the 100th hole in near dark at 9 pm. and he was still able to put one foot in front of the other today. ah, youth.

It was 98 degrees in the Mid-Hudson Valley at 5:45 tonight.

Our running club has a nine mile race in the Shawangunk Mountains on the summer solstice every year - tonight's edition was without a doubt the stupidest and most miserable time I have ever spent running. Really unpleasant.

I ran a marathon in New Hampshire once when the temperature at 8:00 a.m. was 80 degrees. I knew I was in for trouble that day. I ran my slowest marathon time ever but had my best place finish so I guess it affected others even worse. Unfortunately, that was the one race my mother decided to come watch. After watching me finish with a white face and blue lips she never did come to any of my races again.

The temp. reached high 90's yesterday here in Norwalk. And I have workers remodeling a bathroom, with all the attendant commotion. To top it off, I have -- of all things! -- a summer cold. So I am reminded (like it or not) of one of Ogden Nash's classic poems: "There's nothing glummer than a cold in the summer."

My nephew, who lives with us, graduates from HS here in the New Haven area tonight at a freakin' OUTDOOR graduation. It starts at 6 so maybe some relief, but it will be worse for the kids. The school is providing water to them.
