That was for the Section One Championship not the state title. I would also like to add that Edney was the QB for New Rochelle when they won the 2012 NYS class AA football championship.
The last time New Ro best Mt Vernon( the last time anyone beat Mt Vernon) for the section one basketball title was also the last time they won a State Football championship. Ray Rice stared on both teams.

For sure. I hope the young man has experiences that far outweigh winning a high school basketball game in dramatic fashion, but that's not mutually exclusive. For instance, what a great story to tell his kids someday.
