OT: golf Tom Watson will apparently be....

named captain of the 2014 Ryder Cup. He was captain back in 1993...it is a bit of a departure to name him...much older than the usual captain for one. It is supposed to be announced on the Today show Thursday.

I saw that on ESPN.com - hope it pans out. I'd love to see Tom back in the saddle so to speak, even if he's not playing (they could do much worse!).

Ripped my guts out when he didn't quite close the deal at the Open a few years ago.
