12.. Fahrenheit 451, a novel, by Ray Bradbury set in the American future. The protagonist, Guy Montag, a fireman, burns books. The premise is books began being burned because they offended some minority groups, the elitists, and special interest groups. Society as a whole decided to burn all books rather than have conflicting opinions. Eventually a complaint is filed against him for having read aloud a passage from a book of poetry. His wife betrays him and his book stash is burned. He is hunted as a fugitive. He meets the “Book People” where each person is a book they memorized. And no one lives happily ever after.
