2. Fonda (not Jane, Peter or Bridget) and Newman (not Randy); written by Ken Kesey who also wrote "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest."

5. The Bash Brothers, McGwire and Conseco, with the Oakland A's, who lost to Kirk Gibson's miracle homerun off Dennis Eckersley in '88.

1..Pinot with a solitary soliloquy, and without a skull.

2..Chj001 (not 007 nor jch)

3..Hail Knights of the woeful countenance (and 3 others) for picking the California Girl.

4..Big & SVC place the Egyptian leader.

5..VAUC & SVC sing of the earth moving under their feet.

6..Just ONE coin; did I not write that? Good thing we have Big and Pinot.

7..Say Big, am I not just too cute for words?

8..Drive brushes off his collection of TV commercials.

9..It's in S D and it took leadership in promulgating The Star Spangled Banner among army posts.

10..Yes, SVC. Put aside your question mark. Show the courage of your convictions!

11..A foursome of Dillingers works out fine.

12..I for one never learned how the Grinch stole Christmas, but I guess he returned it, since it goes on.

13..Oh, the desperation, as you think you can get away with Mr. & Mrs. as first names. Now we see that SVC was desperately trying to write something in "B", he's OK here.

At the risk of falling victim to small town rumor, I have always been told that Dillinger used a potato rather than a wooden gun.

I wouldn't bring it up but the lead agent who brought down Dillinger had lived a block away from my home and it was a claim to fame for a small town.

Yes, and that agent even got a bio, like the mason and the steelworker et al, in the book WORKING by Spuds Terkel. He claimed the incident led to his inventing the toy Mr. Potato Head.

Later in life the agent developed this ad...

You laugh but he was played by Christian Bale in Public Enemies.

Wikipedia seems to support the potato.

You object to my laughing? How else would one ward off depression?
Like Wiki I support potatoes, for they complete the bacon, eggs and biscuit.
Note that "he" is an unclear referent. A person might think Mr. Bale played Mr. Potato Head.

I'll stop now, lest you conclude I am absurd.

Why G-Man Melvin Purvis of course.

Hash Browns? how do you like them?

Sister and I took our usual Sunday morn brisk walk. Then ate at Christos. Not hash browns, but the flat kind, with runny yellows mixed in. Some bacon comes home with me to add to other meals. Can never finish the biscuit.
