Ravi Shankar taught George to play the sitar and is Norah Jones's father. Anoushka Shankar, another of Ravi's daughters, played at the memorial Concert for George just as Ravi played at the Concert for Bangladesh

9. Nora Jones is Ravi Shankar's daughter. Ravi Shankar was influential with the Beatles and it was because of Shankar that George Harrison put together the Concert for Bangladesh in 1971. IMO, a star studded event, the music was so-so given all the talent on stage. As close to a Beatles reunion as we were going to get.

The significance of the drive to retake West Mosul is that it is the last stronghold of ISIS in all of Iraq. So thereafter, one hopes, it is kaput there.
