Lord, make us truly thankful we are not Penn State.

No reprinting questions & no research, por favor.

1..The American city with the highest per capita murders?

2..In 1941 where do the 1st WACS train?

3..The EROICA and the PASTORAL have #'s(?).

4..The 1st Afro-American woman to deliver a keynote speech at the DNC?

5..The 1st navy carrier named for a living Prez?

6..This(?) annoyed Coca Cola drinkers in '85.

7..What significant event happened at Lowry Air Force Base in '55?

8..The 1st Prez to sail the Panama Canal?

9..Lucrezia Borgia is also an opera. By whom?

10..What decade begins the US Marine Band?

11..No border with Syria: Turkey, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iran, Israel, Lebanon

12..In what song does Paul Simon twice exhort his bandmates to, "Pick it up; pick it up"?

13..Link these terms: simultaneous touch, immaculate reception.

1. I think one would have to go with Chicago this year.
3. Eroica was Beethoven's #3.
5. I would assume Eisenhower
6. Changed Coke to New Coke. Either the the stupidest or most brilliant idea ever. Depends on how smart one thinks the people at Coke are. Sure worked out for them though.
11. Kuwait is clear down the other end of Iraq. I remember that from '91.
12. Cecilia
13. Franco Harris?

C'mon, Meyers, "link" is the directive, just "Franco" won't do.

1. New Orleans? although I seem to remember a recent news article where it was a city that one would not expect. Something about a large mass murder skewing the per/capita data.
4. King?
5. The USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76)
6. The changed the original formula?
7. I went to school at Lowery AFB in 1966. That was significant to me 'cause it kept me from having to go where people were getting shot at.
8. Rooseveldt ? THe one with the big . . . . stick
11. Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iran

Well I thought everyone knows the story of the immaculate reception.

Let's see Steelers/Raiders, time winding down, last play (or 4th down or both??) Bradshaw scrambles and throws downfield. Steeler and Raider (Tatum?) go up for ball, either the Steeler touched it, or Raider touched it or both touched it "simultaneously" and it bounced off where Franco scooped it inches (inch) from the ground and ran it in for a TD, Steelers win. Go to Superbowl. If it had bounce off Steeler first (or was ruled that way anyway), the pass would not have been complete or rather illegal.

Here you go.

13. could the "simultaneous touch" be referring to Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel? If so then "Italo-Franco."

I've visited the Air Force Academy a few times. What an awesome location. IMO the most incredible feature is the Eisenhower Course. :)

Hey, President Baack Obama, we're back. Well, no, the Prez doesn't care, but some posters may. After a very troublesome time with the dynamic duo of Bright House & Best Buy, I have a usable computer. Thankfully, we've had the Olympics (and my Zen peacefullness) to assuage these trying times.

1..VTC cites the city of Fats Domino & beads-for-breasts, USA.

2..Fort Des Moines, Iowa

3..Geordi treats us to both numbers, 3 & 6.

4..K9, geordi & VAUC with Barbara Jordan.

5..VTC provides the USS Ronald Reagan.

6..Several remember the Coke formula change.

7..VAUC tells us that is when the Air Force Acad. opened for business.

8..No, he had no big stick, just a wheelchair--K9's got it.

9..Rbny (of course) answers with Donizetti.

10..1798, in combo with the marines itself.

11..Saudi Arabia, Iran, Kuwait--frank & VTC with all 3.

12..Meyers rightly gives us CECELIA.

13..Meyers again, after some prompting, gives us text & video. See him.
