"We won't win it all this year," he said, "But next year we may not lose a game."
That gives us a delicious long-range anticipation.
Meanwhile we are left to wonder where Tiff will go, how Olympic practices will go, who will be the 12th pick, will any 2013 guys commit soon..

Oh yes, and how you will fare on these 25 questions.

No research and no reprinting questions please.

1..What mfr. puts the Assassin on the road?

2.."And the operator says 40 cents more for the next three minutes."

3..The largest country (by far) without a single river?

4..What did Juliette Gordon Low inaugarate?

5..In 2006 what Ct. firm tanked over a $6.8B bet on natural gas?

6..The duo who gave us Brigadoon?

7..This pop group had a 2-word name; then changed the 2nd word; then dropped the 1st word;
then restoreed the 1st word. Explain it all.

8..In 1781 William Hershel discovers Georgean Sidus, which we know as..?

9..This year we have until 4/? to postmark our IRS return.

10..This species sets the record for largest seasonal landing of birds in the Arctic.

11..In 1919 the American Legion is, oddly, founded in..?

12..In 1852 Frank Bellew first draw this(?) in the NY Lantern.

13..Who is Sally Hemings?

Don't touch that dial.

2. Sylvia's Mother, by Dr. Hook. I think the first album I actually bought with my own money was Dr. Hook.
9. In the Northeast, it's actually 4/17, because, in Massachusetts, 4/16 is Patriot's Day.
11. Philly?
13. She is the slave, owned by Thomas Jefferson, whom he had children with.

Don't think so, Pinot. TJ's slave and mistress was Sally Hemings...but there are certainly a lot of lemings on this board.

I swear that the first time I looked at the quiz, #13 asked who was Sally Lemings?
Never having heard of her I did not have an answer. A couple of hours later I looked at Pinotbear's Thomas Jefferson response and thought - no that person was Sally Hemings. When I reread the quiz I saw that the the question read Who was now Sally Hemings.

2. Sylvia's Mother - Dr. Hook's Medicine Show
9. 4/17
13. Thomas Jefferson's slave mistress. All attempts to reconcile the past and bring both sides of the family together have come to naught.

Enough...

1..Mitsubishi (I'm always sad when no one will guess)

2..Dr. Hook's agonizing Sylvia's Mother, Pinot & VAUC with the full citation. K9 likes music but can neveer remember artists.

3..VTC is singularly accurate with Saudi Arabia.

4..Geordi joins VTC in offering Girl Scouts (originally called Girl Guides).

5..Amaranth--thought some local would know.

6..Geordi with Lerner & Loewe.

7..See Andy or Meyers for the trail of Jefferson Airplane.

8..K9 sagaciously stands apart with Uranus, but she can't remember who sings it.

9..It's 4/17--Pinot, K9 & VAUC. (Just picked up the forms in my local--which you now know is Sanford--library.

10..Shearwaters

11..No, not that kind of gay. Gay Paree.

12..Yes to the Silly Ol' Bear with Uncle Sam.

13..Time for me to 'fess up. While I was a-scrubbin' away in the shower, a voice said,"Holy Cow, Pedro! You typed an "L" instead of an "H". Geordi is vindicated! And a bunch of others are righteous too.

You're lucky. The voice in my shower just shakes its' head and snickers.

But, eclesiastically (that's gotta be misspelled), there's some interesting ramifications to The Voice channelling Phil Rizzuto, and calling you Pedro. Perhaps Padre Bear can figure it out. Did Phil come back reincarnated as your loofa, and mistake you for Pedro Martinez? Do you look like Mr. Martinez, or is your loofa just nearsighted? Perhaps the spectral Scooter can't wear his glasses in the shower, and it's an honest mistake? Ah, well - these questions are too big for a simple bear like me.

Too big for you? I don't even know what a loofa looks like!
