5..Pat Boone's first hit was, um, borrowed from..?

6..Because of how "leap days" are calculated, they are more likely to fall on which 2 days?

7..One Prez(?) had 2 alligators as pets roaming the White House.

8..To overact labels one a __en___ ___we_.

9..Just a passing glance...and I might have gone on my way empty-hearted. Title & artist?

10..Prior to Gregory's calendar, the West went by whose?

11..Pitcher Sal ____i_ from 60 years ago.

12..The Soprano's night club?

13..The 1st box of chocolates was offered in1868 by a man whose company(?) still exists.

6. I'd think that the only interruption of the rotating pattern within a century (where each Leap Day is two days of the week earlier than the last one) would be around those century years (such as 2100, 2200, 2300) where there is no Leap Day. I would also think that any variance in frequency that this causes would be limited (maybe 1 more time within a century than the other days) and that the variance would even out over a sufficiently long period (say, a thousand or more years).
That is, if it is more likely to occur on a particular day, it would not be a lot more likely, and it will not stay that way.

Then again, maybe my logic is entirely off.

9..Jane Morgan counts, UPink, but I vote too for Nat.
5..You are recalling that old movie, but the first hit was usurped from a N'arlins favorite son, maybe a year earlier.

While I can't explain it, it does turn out that there are "favored" days, one of them was Prince spaghetti day & the other
made Fats blue.

Heh heh! Upink is a very deep shade of pink in the face. She is going with Tutti Frutti or Ain't That a Shame.

NCor posts first and correctly provides 2, 6, 9, 10, 11 & 13.

VAUC adds to our knowledge with 1 & 12.

3..Portrait artists at one time charged extra for difficult parts of the body to reproduce.
Thus many old paintings, including at least one of Washington, shows the Prez holding an arm behind him; others contracted for just the upper torso, so as not, in each case, to incur the cost of an arm and a leg.

4..Oklahoma's neighbor, Arkansas.

8..Scenery chewer

5..The question asked for a person. That person was Fats Domino (Ain't That a Shame).

7..Actually, Herbert Hoover's son was the instigator of the White House gator duo.

On to part B
