Didn't see a thread on him. News that he has dementia (only a few years my senior) the other day is sad and strange because I mentioned him to a friend just the other day. He was my favorite running back to watch. One of those totally fluid athletes. The other two I always loved to watch on a football field, (murders aside) were Jim Brown and OJ. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNy7SvrLE9w.

Boy his acceleration is something isn't it? He could stop on a dime and then seemingly go full stride in an instant. Good video, thanks for posting.
 
Highlights of him are incredible. He and Barry Sanders had similar abilities to scramble and then boom, they're in for another 50yd TD.

Gotta be honest, I thought Sayers died a long time ago.

The only reason I knew about his dementia was a mention in a story about Dwight Clark. And YouTube is a treasure chest of great videos.

Sayers was smoother, much more fluid than Sanders. Sander was more fast twitch, quick. Both were incredible
