We had a chance to go with Frontier when they first took over, stayed with Comcast, so glad we did. Unfortunately have our phone and Internet with them.

I'm looking to move soon, but they mistakenly cut my cable bill by 40 bucks this month when I dropped HBO so I think I'll stay til the "correct the issue".

A buddy of mine mentioned his internet or tv was having issues - tweeted them actually and they said, wow no one has reported an issue we'll look into it.

SO BELIEVE IT OR NOT, TWEETING MAY GET YOU BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE - THEY DON'T WANT ANGRY TWEETERS OUT THERE!

I had some issues on initial install but was there to oversee it and get a new installer out to change the system from wireless to coaxial. It was never going to span 3 floors without freezing up and I told the guy.

We're fortunate that some work was done throughout our complex and the node or point where fiber switches to phone lines is pretty close to me and internet speed is pretty good. I use my own wireless router system and theirs is in bridge mode. Others may not have the same situation but I have had good responses from CS reps in New Haven. Sundays I have no idea what happens and I was aware of the overall poor CS reputation when I signed up. Even if it didn't work out it puts me in a position to negotiate a better deal down the line and save a little for now.

There is a restaurant/bar near me that has Frontier. Conversing with the owner they are so bad you'd think they were trying to put him out of business.

Is the only thing saving cable the fact that I can't get NESN (and a Yankee fan can't get YES) except for through your cable outlets (I'm not talking out of market folks who might be able to get it on MLB.tv or whatever).

Because honestly, I would cut that crap out of it if not for sports.

I truly think sports is the only thing saving cable tv right now.

UVerse was straight, I had very little issues with them. Immediately after Frontier took over, the internet got so slowww and for whatever reason several devices could not be connected all at the same time on the wifi. I now have Cox for phone and internet and direct tv. Its not cheap, but the service for frontier was so bad and frustrating the savings wasn't worth the aggravation. Streaming sports is still tricky and spotty, otherwise I'd pay for the best internet service and stream everything else.

Yes this is why the payments to teams and leagues make no sense. It's also why you'll see more networks go bankrupt like in Houston.

I've had to deal with Frontier tech support, in the past it was a pain but they are streamlining. Recently I had problems with video buffering, called tech support and they refreshed the connection and it worked after 15 minutes on the phone. My personal reasons for sticking with them are that I don't like sending money to Comcast, a giant monopoly that takes the money you pay every month to either buy up all their competitors (they tried to buy Time Warner) or buy off politicians. Wish there were more competitors in the marketplace to make pricing and quality of service competitive.

Comcast is terrible to deal with. Their X1 product is so much better than DTV, Cox and Frontier it's hard to believe.

I don't like sending money to Comcast because they are a giant monopoly, so I went with Frontier instead of Comcast.

Is Comcast a monopoly if you had the option to go with another provider?

They are a monopoly in many markets (and in other markets it's another provider) - they own the pipes. If you want your signal coming through a co-ax copper cable you don't have choices. Frontier is a different technology.

Does anyone have Sling TV?

Had it for two months. When I decided to keep a basic cable package to supplement my streaming services I cut Sling TV off.

It seemed to work alright. $25/month to include the sports package.

Was thinking of transferring to Frontier because XFINITY no longer has YES... they cater to the Boston, MA a little more as you go north in CT.. I live in New Haven County now...

I was hoping Verizon FIOS would make it up here.. Give them a shot instead of the rest...

I had AT&T for internet/phone before the Frontier switch. It was so bad I had no internet at all and they came to the house 3 times before they realized I had been turned off in the center. I gave up and went back to Cablevision for internet/phone. Still use DirecTV for TV. Cablevision's rates were the same and I get as high as 100mbps download.
