OT: Family (of origin) Size

My post in the sports memory thread involving my three brothers got me wondering if anyone else on here was brought up in a large family. Counting myself, there were 7 siblings in my family. My parents married young very young and had my 2 older brothers (8 and 5 years ahead of me) pretty early, then my older sister (2 yrs older), myself, and my younger sister (1 yr younger) at a semi average age. My late younger brother (7 yrs younger) and youngest sister (9 yrs younger) came along semi-late. We weren't exceedingly wealthy by any stretch and the house was crowded, but I wouldn't trade any of that for all the money in the world.

I only have 2 other siblings but both my parents are Irish catholic so needless to say I have 18 aunts/uncles and god only knows how many cousins.

Only child. I was also born in between generations in my family, so my cousins are either 20+ years older than me or born in the mid-late 2000s.

My mother came from a family of 13. I have 26 cousins, 3/4 of whom I only know by name. They lived in a small farmhouse, with3 small bedrooms.,which my parents bought when my grandmother passed.

My grandmother and grandfather, a priest, had 8 children. He passed the babymaking genes to his children. 40+ first cousins. I have 2 brothers.

Aunts & uncles all slept in one room growing up.

It blows my mind when people have connections to the 1800s. Based on what you've shared with us your grandmother must have been born in the late 1890s-1910s?

Yeah I'm familar with that - I think we've discussed on the Cesspool in the past.

I had a great uncle who died about 7 years ago just short of 100. My family is generally buried with the circus fire victims which is always a bit surreal but it was amazing his mother was born in the 1880s, he outlived her by 90 years and outlived his brother who was a Hartford cop by 70 years.

She was born in 1880's. Passed at age 75.

I only have 2 siblings, but both of my parents are one of 11, so I have 20 aunts and uncles and 70+ first cousins. Just one of four grandparent are still living and she's 96.

I had one brother and one sister for 30+ years. Then a surprise brother appeared 8 years ago, he was 35.

Apparently my dad was getting around but Maury didn't exist back then. Coincidentally he appeared (or should I say was introduced) the same year my mother died. Anyway I 'now' have 2 brothers and 1 sister.

Five kids in my family. My parents came from families of 10 & 12. Tons of cousins, half of them in the same town. (But I can't touch Poe's 70!)

One of seven, born from mid '66 to '81. They don't make Irish Catholics like they used to.

First 4 were boys - each born 16 month apart. We had great 2 on 2 games. The youngest of the 4 turned out to be the best athlete. In part because of the daily competition & in part because he ended up being 6'5".

Paternal grandparents were born in the 1880's. Now that I am working on my family tree, I wish I had listened when my grandmother told me stories of our family history. Winnie knew her own great grand parents who were born in the 1700's. All very large Irish a Catholic families.
