I think the timing is impeccable. We get the blowout win in the Civil ConnFLiCT, our program has turned the corner, Edsall gets fired from what will likely be his last significant gig.

Karma is NICE.

Actually pretty classless to root for the demise of a coach that brought UConn from lowly 1-AA to a BCS bowl game. Yes they way he left was lousy but the things he did for the school and Jazz showed he is a good person.

I unlike you wish him well in his future

I agree. The way he left was classless. I suspect he let his anger towards Hathaway get the better of him but this was no excuse to treat his players in that manner.

However he demonstrated a lot of class during his tenure with UConn. I'm with you in not throwing out his entire body of work over the one classless act.

Good is nice. Loyalty is also nice.
How many current division 1 coaches have been at their school longer than Edsall was at UCONN? I bet it's not many. Those who think he wasn't loyal for leaving after 10 years ( or whatever it was) are crazy and blind to the realities of college coaching tenure.

Who cares about loyalty? What about brains? HCRE was set at UConn for life. He was stupid to leave.

Regardless of whether you like him or not it was pretty ridiculous the way Maryland let him twist in the wind.

It took Edsall a while to find a better job. That's why he stayed as long as he did.

He did his job here, made a business decision with his and his family's best interest in mind. Was the way he left questionable? No doubt but that certainly doesnt outweigh the good he did for this program. His leaving was actually a great opportunity for our AD to spice things up and add an exciting young coaching staff to continue the progression of the program........ They did not.
