Hello all, sorry to do this but I just cannot wait... the tension and excitement continues to grow every week.... There were 7 suspects for Red John and now they are down to five. Who will it be? What do you all think? I just do not want it to be one of those Newhart moments where Patrick wakes up in a padded cell because he has gone crazy and Red John is still out there... or Patrick is in a coma because he was shot by Red John back in the day...

So what are peoples thoughts?

I'll probably tune back in when it's down to 1 suspect. Honestly, they dragged the story line out for so long that i've lost interest in it.

I've no clue now who Red John is. I'm not sure I care anymore either, other then the series keeps bringing the mystery up. I'm now beginning to believe that Lisbon is involved with Red John somehow and who knows she might be him.

A one time fan, I quit watching when Red John became the focus of the show.

Yes, the excessive focus and the accompanying loss of playfulness in the spirit of the show destroyed it. I am watching begrudgingly because I enjoy the occasional mentalism or magic skill involved. For those in the know there were frequent bits of sleight of hand, cold reading techniques, muscle reading, misdirection, and other skills used by magicians and mentalists.

I like the show, but it never made sense to me that the Guy could figure out the most complicated of crimes, but keeps getting duped over and over again by Red John. I consider it a big plot hole, unless someone can explain to me how this makes sense.

None of this makes sense unless you watch whatever it is that they're watching. what are you watching?

Although much of entertainment relies upon a suspension of skepticism and of our natural disbelief, I see these sorts of inconsistencies as representative of that truth that we all have blind-spots and plot holes in our lives.

Think of it as the vying between Holmes and Moriarity. Clearly, what Patrick Jane is onto now is that there must be someone trading on inside information possibly from a network of sources. The show like many shows lost its way when they lost their initial writing team. It happens all the time.

Have to agree with Eric and ice. When in desperation for something to watch I will take in an episode, the whole Red John thing caused me to drop this show years ago.

It's a private club you must know the handshake but for you I'll make an exception if you can read my mind.

I still enjoy the show, but would like the Red John thing to be resolved. Not sure what they will do then. Presumably, Patrick is only working there for the access.

Thanks, Icebear. That helps explain things.
