I just want to shake his hand and ask how.

"The university (ND) gave Weis a payment of $2,054,744 for the reporting period of July 2014 through June 2015. Weis has received $16,912,123 since he was fired in November 2009. Notre Dame is scheduled for "additional annual payments" through December 2015, so one more payment means Weis' buyout money from the school will total $18,966,867.

Weis still earning more cash from ND than Kelly

How do I sign up for this Irish gravy train?

ND is loaded, they can afford it.
No matter how loaded, the money should be spent on education in some way or form, no matter how farfetched, not on folks who haven't worked there in seven years. If I had an agent, I'd sure want that one!

...yeah and the NCAA is more about the scholar than the athlete, and conference realignment was about improving academic opportunities, and the Easter Bunny, and Santa Claus, and I have swamp land for sale and I have a deed to the Brooklyn Bridge available at the right price!

He either has a great agent, carries a large pistol, the AD 's are as stupid as they come, or ND is getting money from the Vatican Banking system--I hear they also have a laundry too---CoCo, you should apply for the job Weis had you know as much about sports--apparently he knows more about making money without working..

REALLY?? Sounds like you invested in great enterprises, the Brooklyn Bridge alone passes 170000 cars a day--I could turn it into a toll bridge, but I'd need a partner (but only to buy it)... Dig out the Swamp land and sell the water to any number of
Cities, starting with Michigan cities. Don't use lead or PVC pipes the EPA will be after you..

Weis was I believe being pursued for pro HC jobs too, after the 3rd SB win in 4 yrs. and Charlie is well known as a go-to-the-mat bargainer (I think he left New England with a couple of law suits pending, if memory serves). In theory, he was a perfect fit for what ND wanted...in theory.....

You got any idea how much money ND football makes for the University annually? For 2014 alone, it was $81 million (5th in the nation) in football revenue and $48 million in football profits. And as of 2016, their pot has grown.

Signing uber-competitive coach friendly contracts is the cost of doing business for ND. Weiss was one of the hottest candidates in the nation after a long run as the OC of the Patriots. And ND football was foundering at the time. To top it off, he ND was his Alma Mater. Weiss held all the cards. But the spending is worth it overall. Just didn't work out this time.

As I recall they extended his C after 8 games or so, in his FIRST year.!!!!!!
