My favorite athlete of all-time. First time I ever remember getting emotional when an athlete retires. Maybe the last of a dying breed goes out in style with 30 points and the win before he announces after the game that he's all done.

Legendary player with an uncommon humility who changed the game of basketball forever. Now Mark Cuban get that statue built.

1998 NBA Draft Flashback: Bucks trade Dirk to Mavs for Tractor Traylor, Mavs also trade for Steve Nash, many takes ensue - Freezing Cold Takes

On draft day 1998, there was a 3 team trade that ended up with the Bucks having Robert Traylor, the Suns having Pat Garrity, and the Mavericks having Dirk Nowitzki and Steve Nash. That has to be one of the best trades in sports history.

First time I saw him was in a documentary about Jerry Tarkanian at Fresno state I believe with rafer Alston. They played the German junior national team and talk referred to this tall smooth kid as someone he would like to have as well as being able to have full time athletes who don’t need to split between school and practice
