I know very few remember Dianne Durham and that's a tragedy. She was a trailblazer for the sport and began the trend of super athleticism in women's gymnastics. She was the chief rival to Mary Lou Retton and in fact, defeated her many times. An injury and change of coaches prevented her from the 1984 Olympics. Here she is winning the 1983 National Championship over Retton.
