. . . unleashes his scorn, now berating a gutsy and popular Celtics team by bringing up - yup - our UConn Huskies. Here's how he earned his new nickname:

Hawks-Celtics tied at 1-1 in playoffs. Hawks win game 3 as Boston plays badly. Dan's column in The Globe next day:

"Every Celtic game these days is like a UConn women's basketball game. In reverse. Every Celtic opponent is UConn."
Game 4, amazing win in OT to tie series at 2-2. Game account stated that the "frothing fans" were exuberant. As for Dan? Let's say. . .

clearly, the only clever, attention-grabbing thing he's stumbled on recently, so he's squeezing it for all its worth. We all have to do something for a living and at some point we all likely have to humiliate ourselves to get by. he's doing that part very well.

In sharp contrast to you-know-who, a younger Globe writer described last night's OT 104-95 victory by "the most egalitarian of NBA teams" as "pulse-pounding, cardiac-challenging 53 minutes of playoff basketball." WOW!

Christopher L. Gasper.
Boston Globe. Celtics 104 - Hawks 95. Worth a good read by a darn good sportswriter.:)

I sort of like his references.
As we say in the biz...." all publicity is good publicity."

Two average teams in the playoffs. Hyperbole a bit? Would he have described it in such purple prose if his Celtics had lost?

Hyperbole? Sure. Had they lost? Ask Mr. Gasper. (We know what that other guy would write.;)) But they won, so stay tuned.

Apparently this "egalitarian team" captured a Boston Moment. This Celtics team - and their coach, - has been embraced by fans who are hungry for a team like this. The headline to Mr. Gasper's excellent column was something about these no-name Celts earning "an A for (Team) Effort.":D

A breath of fresh air, relief from the stench of the Broons, Panda, frequent Red Sox last-place finishes, DeflateGate. and - yes - the crap under the byline of you-know-who.;)

you're helping him...

I did no such thing. I invited attention to his unduly harsh criticism of the Celtics (for one bad game) and, worse yet, bringing the UConn women's team into the matter.

I generally don't like Dan, but since you accused me of "helping him," I'll give you justification. I invite your attention to his column in today's Globe, in which he meticulously destroyed the Patriots' Deflategate case and supported the blockbuster ruling by the Appeals Court (Brady's suspension stands).

Now you can again charge me with "helping him." Guilty as charged. I throw myself on the mercy of The Boneyard.:)
