I saw he committed back to EIU a year or so ago, but i don't think he ever played for them?

I can't find much on him, is he out of school/basketball?

Last I knew, he was playing for a community college in Idaho

He couldn't get academically eligible for EIU and left the program.

Just looked up his stats and he only played 9 games(starting 0) and only averaged about 3pts and 3rebs, I wonder what happened there. I thought of him last night watching Western Kentucky secure a bid seeing as how that was where he originally was supposed to wind up.

From about 2005 on we took some real reaches (and/or projects), and almost all of them failed except Gavin Edwards and Craig Austrie.

Antonio Kellogg
Rob Garrison
Jonathan Mandeldove
Scottie Haralson
Ben Eaves
Darius Smith
Jamal Trice
Michael Bradley

We'll see what happens with Wolf before we add him here. Some of these were good kids, but they just never panned out. We don't see as many Hilton Armstrongs...

Did JC really only watch Bradley that one time vs Drummond before offering him a ship? I know that's how legend has it but damn, that seems crazy. There was alot of alarm on here once Bradley's HS SR year averages were posted, I chose the wait and see approach but I guess he really didn't belong at this level if he can't play at a JUCO.

Legend has it that JC slept with all of their moms and to avoid a lawsuit he offered those kids a scholly.

Scottie made some 3'pointers for us! He had onions.

The assistants were really substandard for awhile - I used to really worry about it. It was after Moore and LaFleur was so so on his best day and Sellers had a big jump to our level. I used to plead for a staff shakeup at the time. Way too many reaches considering 2004 and being #1 in 2006 for so long. That staff caused me a ton of worry!!!

We did take a bunch of reaches for a stretch there, almost none of them made any sense. Trice wasn't even good enough for his prep team, Bradley averaged like 6 points. Don't think we will be seeing to many reaches for a while with Ollie at the helm and the new practice facility.

I had a dream a couple of nights ago about Antonio Kellogg being back on the team somehow and he got a T then kicked the scorer's table a la Jim Calhoun

Blame the poor kid but let the multimillionaire slide. O-kay.

Basically everyone from 2007 - 2010 is to blame. Except Kemba, Charles Okwandu, Craig Austrie, Jeff Adrien, and a handful of others.

Jeff Adrien never graduated. However, Jerome Dyson did in fact graduate.

Are you sure about Gavin Edwards? I thought he didn't graduate, or finish in good acedmic standing. I could be wrong

Gavin definitely didn't graduate- I remember being shocked about it because when he was recruited the horde made a big deal about his academics. If I remember correctly, he was in good standing and then left abruptly in the spring to workout for some international teams. Very odd decision that really hurt us this year.

He was a reach as a recruit, but he was able to make an impact on the court by his senior year. He just needed to put in 2 months in the classroom!

I always thought Haralson could have been a contributor here if he had gotten into some semblance of shape or considered playing defense. He ended up being a 1000 point scorer at Tulsa in 3 years. He always had a great looking stroke although it didn't go in much in the little time he got.

Haralson was way too slow, unathletic and he was a flat out mistake in judgement by the coaching staff.

We were transfer city for a while. If you were not in the rotation, Calhoun wanted the player gone, which contributed to needing spring recruits, many of who were therefore reaches and the cycle perpetuated itself. Not all kids will be stars, a player may become useful by their third or fourth year, but we often did not wait, especially if they were not big men. There were some real problems those last few years, 2011 helped us ignore them, but they were certainly there.

No question that the coaching staff made a lot of mistakes. In fact, it got so bad I thought JC should have dumped some of his coaching staff . It isn't good for anybody if kids don't make it and transfer. It hurts our reputation and the player has to sit out a year. Those mistakes are also the reason we are not in any post season tournaments this year.

Sorry--my comment was specifically about on the court, because on the court does affect other issues if players transfer.

But I didn't name everyone who transferred, because the last three weren't reaches.
