Connecticut passed a law that would require genetically modified food (GMO) labeling, but only if 4 other "big" states enact gmo labeling laws.

I post this here for a sport-related purpose. If Connecticut wants to be perceived as BIG, BAD, ACC, B1G, conference ready, why pass whimpy legislation that only takes effect if other states do the same? I would say Connecticut is here reinforcing the notion that it is small, inconsequential and afraid of Monsanto, to boot.

Just sayin'

Excerpt:

"Four states, not including this state, enact a mandatory labeling law for genetically-engineered foods that is consistent with the provisions of this subsection, provided one such state borders Connecticut; and (2) the aggregate population of such states located in the northeast region of the United States that have enacted a mandatory labeling law for genetically-engineered foods that is consistent with this subsection exceed twenty million based on 2010 census figures."
