"Georgetown University strongly opposes all violence against children. Any act of violence against children, whether intended or not is unacceptable behavior for our coaches. We need Georgetown University games to be safe for children of all ages, colors, and creeds. We no longer feel that Coach Cooley can provide that safe and nurturing environment."

Not enough has been said about the bravery of the Georgetown AD for suspending Cooley for a huge game against the powerhouse program of Coppin State.
