This just seems really wrong. I know that former UConn hoops players come back to Storrs often to scrimmage with the team but those are in the summer and are not supervised or coached. Just pick-up games and probably loads of instructional advice from our scores of NBA/International player alum. To bring back former players to participate in actual NCAA sanctioned practices during the season seems wrong. When a kid exhausts his NCAA eligibility, that should be the end of it. The NCAA is so backwards over many things and this is one of them.

But hey, maybe we can bring back a few OL from the Edsall era and show these guys how it's done. What is Donald Thomas up to these days?

Agreed. the thing that is perhaps most criminal is that these players have been so poorly prepared for the real world that their best option is to return to Bama to be glorified tackling dummies. If you're going to take the whole "why pay players when we give them a free education" route, you ought to at least, umm, give your players an actual education.
