They were actually picked to finish last in the NEC preseason poll. Great season for my alma mater (even though I'm religiously devoted to UConn).

Eastern and St. Joseph's didn't have football. But Trinity and Wesleyan do.

I work for CCSU’s athletic department and can say it was truly a special year for the football team. Picked last in the preseason poll, they lost one score games on the road at Yale, Dartmouth, and UMass on the road in nonconference play. Then, needing to win their last four conference games to win the title, they beat Wagner, Stonehill, Robert Morris in 2OTs, and then took down #19 Duquesne to win the NEC. Hope they can pull off the upset at URI on Saturday!

7 interceptions in one game is astonishing. You'd have thought Duquesne would simply stop throwing the ball
Pretty sure that in a regular season match up to win the NFC East in ‘86, the Redskins threw six against the Giants in RFK.

Mark Whipple and then Tony Sparano's teams. Consecutive out of the park hires - dunno who their AD was but they did a great job.

I love this for them. Hopefully Western, UNH and Yale get better too and we really start to show that the NE is a football region.

Western has been rolling the past couple of seasons. There are a few ridiculous scores here.

And the UNH Chargers are still going strong.

My daughter participated in a dance camp last season so I went to one of the games because she was performing at halftime and I had a great time.

I really like their stadium. It sits on a hill so you don't even feel like you're in New Britain. All you see is scenic wooded hills.

I live down the street so I told myself that I'd go to a couple of regular season games but never got around to it.

I like their stadium too. Unfortunately they can’t pack the stadium this late in the season. When the weather is nice and students are on campus. Attendance is decent for 6,000 seats.

The only knock I give CCSU is their tailgate atmosphere could use a make over. I’d suggest putting a tailgate set up on grass behind the baseball field for students and alumni.
