Many of us watched "Capitol Fourth" on PBS, a celebration of Independence Day from our Nation's Capital.

So what's the difference? Capital? Capitol?

Let me help (hey, it's not only off-season, it's 4th of July weekend).

Capitol (with an "o") is a building. Capital (with an "a") is (politically, not banking) a city.

That magnificent building in Washington (Nation's Capital) is America's Capitol. It sits on Capitol Hill.

Here in Connecticut, our governor and general assembly transact business in the state Capitol (building). To get there, road signs direct drivers to the Capitol Region or something like that. And this is in Hartford, the Connecticut State Capital.

Got it?

Now go win your bar bets.

Or ignore me.

Thanks for the reminder. I know it, but sometimes get confused when I try to pull it into active memory.

We are about to veer in the direction of literally vs. figuratively, but I'll hold off on that for now. Perhaps hijack some other thread (like the inevitable discussion of Morgan's red-shirt status?) on Labor Day weekend and beat it into the ground.

I will bare with you as you shoot your aero through the air for great affect. Butt their are those of ewe who will go through grate throws and wag you're tungs at this.

What a capital idea for a thread about the Capitol of WBB -I literally can't wait for the figurative hijacking of a thread on Labor Day weekend. You rock, Kib.
