OT: Big East will represent US at Pan Am Games

As the Big East and the schools in it are sure to succumb to the inevitable soon (according to many here), think of this as a Make a Wish granted.

They considered the P5 conferences and the BE. They all submitted proposals and believe it or not the facilities now available to training in the new on campus BB center at PC apparently had a lot to do with it. Cooley's past involvement in USA basketball didn't hurt either.

Either way we have been getting smoked in this event for the last 20 years and at Coach's K and Cal's urging they convinced USA Basketball and the USOC that going with players and staff's from one conference was a better way to go. Short of taking pro's like the other countries.

BTW, Jay Wright did this 7 years ago and finished 5th. Mark Few was the last coach 3 years ago, we finished 3rd.
