Fantasy team is struggling mightily and I'm looking to try something different for lunch.
Black Bamboo is my go-to for West Hartford lunch. But it's tiny for eat-in so I don't know if that's what you're looking for if you are bringing a large krewe.
Love Black Bamboo but ironically I did that a week ago from today.
Lenas Pizza (just over the Hartford line, best homemade soup and garlic rolls ever)
The soup and garlic rolls are extremely good. The pizza is decent. But yeah, on a day like today some Lena's soup would be awesome.
How am I not aware of this place?
Beachland Tavern in Elmwood
Pick and Mix - Korean hot bowl
Plan B burger bar
Tangiers- middle eastern
Cora Cora-Peruvian ceviche
Couple of those might be just over the border.
I won't go into the center for lunch.
Hall's Market for deli take-out.
Bar Taco-authentic Mexican
Blue Plate Kitchen-homemade American
Noodles and Company-American/Italian
Bar Taco isn't "authentic". Head to Coyote Flaco for that.
That's Hartford though.
No idea if Besito does lunch, but I love that place...
Vietnam Restaurant (on New Britain Ave. in Elmwood, my favorite of the many Vietnamese places in town, Vietnamese Ravioli/cup of Pho/Shaken Beef is a most satisfying meal)
Hot Basil (Thai)
Corner Pug (bar food/american)
Max Burger/Plan B (the best two burger places)
China Pan (by the mall, technically Farmington or New Britain, I like it better than Black Bamboo, Cheng Du and Butterfly's as well)
Joey's (Harry's is good too, probably better pizza even, but you get a wealth of other Italian dishes to choose from, all pretty good) (Many would tell you Park Lane Pizza across the street is better, but they can't be trusted as they like doughy Greek style pizza, bleh!)
Chef's Dog House (just over the line in Newington, if you're feeling like a hot beef injection)
There are of course literally every single chain restaurant you could think of in town too. Most are worthless which is why I didn't recommend much in the center/BlueBack. Haven't been to Treva or Grant's though. Keep an eye out for Cook and the Bear though, it hasn't opened yet but its a collaboration of the owner's of Bear's Smokehouse and Millwrights. They hired the executive chef from Firebox to run the kitchen there.
They do. It's very good. Not cheap. I go when I can expense it.
It's cheap, quick, good and healthy. All the things I'm looking for when it's my time and my dime.
It's next to Harvest Wine and Spirits in a tiny strip that has a beauty salon and Japanese Restaurant (I think; never been there).
Or los adobes across the street from
I love Harvest for lunch...great deli sandwiches.
About to post this, it's their store on Oakwood ave. that also has a beer cave.
Goldberg's too. They are better know for breakfast but they have good sandwiches as well.
Guessing from your avatar, you know West Hartford.
Yup. I graduated from Conard and now own a home in Elmwood. I honestly haven't been to like half the places listed though.
I went to high school next door to that whale.
