OT: Beaudry's Old Old Team

West Florida won D2 championship 48-40 yesterday with a RFr QB. Kid originally signed with Southern Illinois and transfered after a year to be closer to home. Kid threw for almost 550 yards and 6 TD's.

Best part of game was right before half. The complete Anti-Edsall game winning, championship type of coaching. West Florida had just stopped Minn St. on a 4th and goal at the one yard line. Less than a minute to go. We all know Edsall would have run a QB sneak to the two, taken a knee and walked off at the half.
West Florida's coach? First play, 5 step drop in to end zone for a 35-40 yard completion. A couple of shorter throws and then a 40 yard TD strike. 4 plays, 99 yards, 40 seconds. Turned a working lead on to a commanding halftime lead. Especially k owing Minn St. was getting ball to start second half.
Fun game to watch. Graphics showed West Florida won four true road games to get to the finals and, including championship he, beat three previously undefeated teams.
School has had a football program for four seasons, made the championship game in year two with Beaudry and won the championship in year four.
