last Aug. we had a stork like bird in a tree over our driveway. It would go fishing and come back to that same tree which was ok because then we knew what vehicles it was going to poop on and poop on he did. Just white balls of poop which contained tiny pieces of ground up shells, when the hit whatever exploded into multiple little balls. Hitting a vehicle poop would run down the side in streams . In late Sept he left when the leaves fell.

This year he came back in early Sept and is still here but today there were 4 of them, all in different trees, bombarding every thing in our yard, front and back porches, picnic table grill and finally the greatest insult came in the form of dumping on my head as I took the trash out. My son is tired of power washing everything, cause it sticks like glue. We are praying for rain to clean up the mess and the leaves to fall.
Think dad brought mom and the 2 kids, hope there isn't anymore black herons making a home here. There are plenty of trees in the area.

Sorry so long.

Sounds like a bird with an entitlement attitude, and eerily similar to some in-law problems I'm familiar with. Seriously, how about getting getting a dog or cat, or building an osprey nesting stand nearby? Or as a last resort, how about (some warning shots with) a shotgun and some salt loads? :D

I would suggest showing them the Army game from last year. That should do the trick.

Put up a scarecrow.

We have a dog, these birds are up in trees maybe 75-100' , the birds sit very high up . We are thinking of power washing around them. Don't want to hurt them, just make them leave.

Sounds like Great Blue Herons. If they start piling up a lot of sticks in the trees you will have your own rookery. Good times. I'm surprised they are comfortable with all the human activity.
