Some few of you know I am a "gun buff."  Shoot paper and collect old war rifles.  Anyway, I subscribe to a few related newsletters and a colorful story in one today is amazing for what was accomplished and for a glimpse of the life of a plucky Canadian native woman.  A window into a different, rugged world.  Seems this woman with plenty of sand defended herself and her companion with a beat up ancient 22 single shot rifle and brought down a world record grizzly bear just paces before he made a  meal of them.
