First off, I'd like to say that it's extremely deflating as a college football fan to wait 6 weeks for the national championship game. Can't imagine the players or coaches like it either. I'm looking forward to the playoffs, when the lay-offs won't be as long and more than one bowl game will actually matter.

I'm picking Alabama to repeat as champions 23-10. Alabama's offensive line should allow them to play a powerful, tiring, ball-control offense. AJ McCarron makes very few mistakes and I think the stage will be a little too big for Everett Golson.

Alabama 90-2...... In the end Bama will feel bad for the beatdown on Noter Lame and let them have a safety......;)

No but definitely Bama by a decent margin.

I would like to see ND win... if they do it's by a nose, in a low scoring game.

The underdog in me would've rooted for ND, but I'm sorry guys the refs bailed ND out in a few games this year (i.e. the Pitt game.. 4th and forever late in the game and ref calls the bogus Pass Interference on Pitt with Pitt in the lead in that game). They really shouldn't be here.... For that alone, ROLL TIDE!!!!

I picked Bama by a point, but I'll be rooting for ND. Hard to pick against either coach but you've given Coach Kelly a long time to prepare for this one and I'll bet he has them ready. Feeling nervous about the pick because if ND comes out strong Bama could get shaken up pretty good. I guess that goes for either team.

I wish they could both lose, but I am pulling for Alabama because my I have a few co-workers in our corporate office who are all Bama alums who live and die by the Tide, whereas all of the Irish fans I know are either insufferable bandwagon hoppers or Irish people who seem to follow college football once a decade.

Irish by a field goal. I see a defensive struggle. Turnovers probably decide the outcome. I think long drives are unlikely, and ND probably has better big play potential on offense.

If Saban can get them to concentrate, Bama by two TD's. Don't laugh about the concentration comment. The Bama players think they have a decided edge and it may bite them in the ass.

Irish by 6. Nobody will out coach Kelly on the biggest game day of his career.

Plus they should be forced by every otherBCS program to join a conference. Any doubt that the ND women's hoop program would be no where near as good as they are if they had to go independent like the Irish football program. Instead the BE let them be parasites for years and allowed their women's & men's hoop, baseball team and soccer programs to be viable. Shame on the the BE. Shame on the rest of college sports to allow that to happen. ROLL TIDE.

That's because ND football alone is and always has been bigger than BE football... They've got the backing of NBC for goodness' sakes, a MAJOR TV network.. ND is a billion dollar machine...

Probably Alabama but I won't be watching. I don't want to be part of a media ND pimping in a day or two: "largest ratings ever for a bowl game thanks to Notre Dame". I HATE ND and their part in all of this CR stuff.

This is by far the worst year for college football quality in several seasons. This is the worst of Saban's NC Alabama teams. Basically they cannot defend the pass or a mobile QB. Fortunately for them, they only faced one team all year that has that kind of offense. ND is pretty much the perfect matchup for them, something similar to LSU but with less speed and a better defnesive front. Game comes down to specials and one or two plays. Probably a 13-10 or 16-13 win for Bama.
