>>The university announced Thursday that The Crimson Standard will "transform our facilities and provide the environment necessary to recruit and train the best student-athletes and position our programs as nationally competitive in the future."

The capital initiative will add to and renovate existing facilities including the addition of a multi-level sports science center, new football locker rooms, a state-of-the-art medical treatment center among other things.<<

They'll hit that goal no problem.

Plenty enough money to make it happen.

That's the kind of money being invested in college athletics at a single institution now? Unreal.

Might as well buy athletes capes for when they fly.

About ten years ago Tennessee spent $250 million to make improvements to Neyland stadium. Now they are getting ready to spend another $350 million to make more improvements in the stadium and its athletic facilities.

If you travel outside the Northeast you'll see a boom going on and that boom fuels spending like this.
