OT: Ah, the Bad Old Days on the Boneyard.

A verrry long time ago, I stumbled on to an interesting new (certainly for me!) message board called The Boneyard. It was then small and primitive by current technical standards, but I was drawn to it by its main topic - The UConn Huskies (women's basketball).

I was intrigued, so I signed on and adopted "Observer" as my handle. (That was two servers ago, during one of which I became Kibitzer.)

I vividly recall HuskyNan occasionally scolding verbose posters for their failure to respect the limitations of band width on this nascent site. I was so captivated by the very idea of sharing thoughts about this captivating team with like-minded cognoscenti that I even opened up my heart (a lot) and my wallet (a little) to help keep this thing going that we know and love as Our Boneyard.

The inspiration for this long (band width be damned!) monologue arose from the damndest source: the current national furor about whom should have access to which (M or F) bathroom. Honest!

Way back in those Boneyard Bad Old Days, there was a thread like none other, focusing on how ladies (presumably when confronted by packed stalls in their room) can confidently and efficiently use available urinals in the men's room. The thread even had a photo (from behind heh heh) of females getting literally(!) pissed off!

Without cognoscenti with a sense of humor and an intact memory, how would we newbies know these things? Although paradoxically, Kib's post does raise the question, were the bad old days really the good old days?

I suppose the BY has always been interesting.

Back when I first started reading the BY (a number of servers ago) Fishy was still writing a daily?/weekly? sarcastic commentary on the state of (mostly) men's basketball, but venturing into classic territory, including his description of experiencing the need to change his child's "one-sie". Lord only knows how old his then baby is now.

Even as a non-UConn fan, I too dipped into the wallet with a small contribution to Tom to help support the site.

I think it is still the pre-eminent team site that is of interest to fans of all teams for its broad coverage of Women's Basketball issues.

And I remember Nan from long ago as well, always providing a great guidance for the tone of the board. Similarly, a woman named Diana (dmd78) has provided the same service to the much less busy and interesting Rutgers women's board, for just about as long.

Thanks for the prompt. I shoulda titled the OP as The Good Ole Bad Old Days on The Boneyard.

A woman named Diana (dmd78) has provided the same service to the much less busy and interesting Rutgers women's board, for just about as long.

I remember meeting Diana at The Rac. Wonkster finagled 4 tix (back then Rutgers AD wouldn't respond to tix requests from area code 203!) and four 'Yarders made an unforgettable (reprise of "French Connection") trip to the game. And HuskyNan herself introduced me to Rutgers Diana! Fond memories of a distant past.

Grammarian beware! You've made a logical error in "about whom should have access to which (M or F) bathroom." You apparently thought, logically, that "whom" is the object of the preposition "about" in the sentence. But it isn't. The entire noun clause is the object of "about." "Who" is the subject of "should have access." The key is to account for EVERY verb first; each must have a subject. Ergo: use the subject form of the pronoun (who). Common error . . .
