Don't think I could narrow music down to 25 songs. Maybe 250?

I couldn't do it either... if I were to produce a list on a daily basis, the songs would change with the day and my mood.... that was just a short playlist I made up to listen to as I worked on a software product I'm developing...

I'll make up a new playlist for today's work during my lunch break... (my productive hours are from noon till midnight on most days.. I reserve the early morning for fishing...) Actually, There is little in this world that will force me out of bed in the early hours other than fishing...

Boo, I like the eclecticism of that playlist. But I hope your next list includes something from The Band, since we lost Levon only a week ago or so.. And more Blues too. Maybe something form the Stones... And a Ramones rocker would be good too.

Yeah, I know. I should make my own damn playlist. Maybe I will.

Speedoo,

You would've loved my list from last night.... it was made of up exactly those that you listed and had an overall bluesy flavor...

I loved the Ramones... I remember when they were a little known east coast band running the NY metro circuit... I'd see them just about every time the played at CBGB's or anywhere in fairfield/westchester counties...

I haven't made my list for today yet... but you are right.. I like a wide variety of styles... I never really found one style that lasted as my favorite very long... they're all so good in they're own way...

Maybe I will post another list... hmmm this time with links...

I enjoyed your list and listening to some of the items I wasn't familiar with. Here are some of my thoughts & comments:
1. 10th movement of the cantata Herz und Mund und Tat und leben, commonly known as: Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, JS Bach. Bach? - I thought it was the Beach Boys, “Lady Lynda; or The Byrds,She Doesn’t Care About Time”; or Margo Garyan, Someone I Know; or, Apollo 100, “Joy”.

2. Canon in D Major, - Ah yes, The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain

3. Tie 2: The Minstrel Boy, Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros – Too sad for me.

4. Tonight, from West Side Story, - I thought sure I had a hit with my song, “This Afternoon.” Guess I missed it by a few hours.

5. Shelter from the Storm, Bob Dylan – Never did like Dylan. Must be me.

6. Take Five, Dave Brubeck – Saw him play this live outdoors in a noontime concert in NYC Madison Sq. Park about 6 years ago.

7. In the Mood, Glen Miller - Love the movie, The “Glenn Miller Story” (1954) with Jimmy Stewart, June Allyson, Harry Morgan.

8. Garry Owen, almost any version – In the same vein, Sailor’s Hornpipe. - Any Version, here’s one on ukulele by an acquaintance of mine. (It may be dawning on you, I'm a uke player).

9. Just to satisfy you, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson – Love these guys.

10. Simple Gifts, Nearly any version – Yo-Yo Ma & Alison Krauss.

11. Walk don’t run, The Ventures – I have every album they ever made.

12. Be bop a Lula, Scotter Lee – I’d prefer Gene Vincent, the original.

13. Unforgettable, Nat King Cole - With daughter Natalie http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1a40o_nat-king-cole-natalie-unforgettable_music

14. Battle cry of Freedom, Jaqueline Schwab version – Great music from that show. Jay Ungar’s Ashokan Farewell is another. Jay conducts music seminars not too far from Uconn in NY State.

Hmmm... a uke player.... I've been listening to several IZ songs today. There's something about that big boy's music that I really love.... It's such a shame he's gone...
