First Brady and the Pats.....then Papi and the Sox. Quite the daily double if you are a Boston
fan. Which one was more unlikely?

My vote would go to the Sox.

My vote goes to the Pats. Limited time left in the game, with receivers that had trouble holding onto the ball on the previous drive.
Once you got the starter out of the game for Detroit anything can change.
Both were great ending to sporting events.

There was an enormous rumble last night. Warren Spahn (382 complete games!) rolling over in his grave when Detroit Manager Leyland took Max Scherzer (21W, 3 L) out after 1 run/13 strikeouts because he had thrown 104 pitches.

Good thing today is a holiday in Boston because the 200,000 who swore they attended the Pats' game and the 300,000 who insist they were at Fenway are all either hung over or simply too drained emotionally to do a days' work.

Watching the Pats game on TV, the announcers said half the crowd had left before that incredible final drive. Oh ye of little faith!

Well, yeah, but at least the Pats had a pulse! The Sox were flat-lined.

Those of us in Central PA were still recovering from the PSU-Michigan game. 4OTs, blocked field goals, going for it on 4th and 1, wow! Penn State looked buried and done down 10 but scored the seconds on the board to force OT on an unbelievable Robinson catch at the one.

Ice, I was hoping you were watching the Penn St. game. 4 overtimes ! I was glued to the screen. Talk about a chess game. I really like Coach O'Bryan. (Did I spell that right?) Anyway, I thought they deserved it and it was a great game played by a great old program that really could use some positive things to happen. That Freshman QB is going to be a good one I think. He does have a gun, and seems to have a little icewater running through his veins !

As a Sox/Pats/Celts fan... a GREAT day! [then I saw a ad with Pierce and Garnett in Brooklyn uniforms...ugh.]
