Oscar Nominated Shorts

We've been to see a least one batch of Shorts a year since they started putting them together and playing them in theaters. It's always enjoyable and makes for a nice date night. Also gives you some buy-in on Oscar night when they announce the winner. I had a good prediction percentage but last year killed me when the gave the prize to Kobe, clearly the weakest entry. It's almost like it was a popularity contest or something.

Have you been yet this year, @Waquoit? My local is playing both animation and live action shorts this week and I am thinking of checking out one or both.

We went to the animated show. It was fun, maybe not the strongest bunch ever. One really hit home. The theater manager mentioned in passing that the live action shorts were more serious as a group. So I would base your choice on your mood.
