I hope that after UCF comes up to Rentschler this fall, the Orlando Sentinel writers gain an appreciation of UCONN football, such that they realize that they very badly underestimated the Huskies this year.

It's actually not a bad write up - save the redshirt typo.

Choosing to look for positive, when I look at our returners on offense, I see us with significant experience vertically up the gut and on the edges with a returning veteran center, a QB with experience, and then backs behind the QB with experience - out on the edges split ends and tight ends with experience.

SO there is a significant issue replacing 4 OL starters horizontally in the offense - but change there, frankly, might be good.

From the article:
"Manuel hired former Notre Dame defensive coordinator Bob Diaco as head coach. He hopes to bring the same type of notoriety the school's elite basketball teams receive to the football program."

Notoriety: the state of being famous or well known for some bad quality or deed.

This Orlando Sentinel guy may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer. He also left out Tim Boyle from the QB competition.

This list is bizarre. The Myerberg list is always much more thoughtful.

Arkansas and West Virginia are going to be THAT bad? 20-25 teams worse than last year?

He has not done his homework and failed to mention the new attitude / brotherhood atmosphere Bob has already instilled. This along with the S&C being way beyond what was done in the past.
Our win over BYU will cost us the title of sleeper right from the get go.
It doesn't matter where you start, only where you finish...I look forward to his comments after our win over UCF...

If we knock off UCF and ECU it will shut up a lot of our CUSA brethren. All we need is some production out of the QB slot for the first time in what seems like forever.

Looks like we'll be #93 on Myerberg's list tomorrow. This was in today's entry at USA Today about #94 Akron:

"UP NEXT:
Who's No. 93? As a player, this team's coach started 23 games for a Power Five program and twice earned all-conference recognition."

The Teams' successes begin and end on the lines, offensive and defensive.
