Another Anigwe vs. Hebard battle, should be interesting. I can't recall off the top of my head how that individual match up has played out the 2 previous seasons.

Oregon won 91-54 last year in Eugene. Anigwe had 6 pts. and 8 rebounds; Hebard 18 and 11. The Ducks then went on to play a stinker against Stanford the following Sunday. Hebard's freshman year (in Berkeley) she had 13 and 10 vs. Anigwe's 20 and 10. An Ionescu 3 pointer at the final buzzer won the game for Oregon 69-66.

Oh, I remember that one. That was a fairly momentous play if you think about the roll they've been on fairly much since then.

Yes, before that game it was far from clear whether Oregon would even make the NCAA tournament. Cal appeared to have the game in hand with about a minute left but Oregon staged the improbable comeback.

I honestly believe this game will be a blow out by Oregon. Cal spent whatever bullets they had by beating Stanford by1 point last week and then got blown out at Stanford. And just like Cal was able to split with arch rival Stanford, so does Oregon and OSU.
Sunday’s game will be must watch TV!

Ugh, Tammy Blackburn, worst color analyst on the planet.

I think I'll just wait and watch the highlights tomorrow.

Cal playing dumb ball at both ends. Bad defense on two pick and rolls then Anigwe takes an early shot clock three pointer that misses. UO up 14-1--Cal TO.

Aniqwes FT made her leader in Cal WBB history at 2321.

Oregon has been making a habit of jumping out big on teams right off the bat. This isn't quite like Arizona or Colorado. Teams aren't scoring a lot against them lately. Maybe they are better defensively than their reputation?

Maybe Ionescu is gong to break out of her shooting slump. 13 points on 5-5 shooting in Q1. Ducks up 26-17.

Oregon has gone cold and suddenly is missing wide open layups and giving up 3s on the other end.

Hebard's foul trouble is really hurting them inside.

Holy cow. Oregon has shot 10 of 14 from 3 in the second half alone, and just hit the century mark with just under 2:00 to play.

Sabally finishes with 31 points (6 of 8 from 3), 9 rebounds, 5 steals.
Ionescu with 27 points but "only" 5 rebounds and 3 assists.
Cazorla with 17 points and 9 assists.

Looking at stats that's probably Cal's best offensive game of the year (13-28 from 3!) and they still lost by 23. 3 players w/ 20 or more so Anigwe had plenty of help. If you want to beat Oregon, you better plan on scoring a lot.

4th quarter scoring was 34-28 advantage for UO. Holy cow, that must've been entertaining. 61-46 UO in the 2nd half. You don't expect to have the other team to run away from you when you score nearly 50 in a half.

Will be interesting to see how Rueck tries to defend Anigwe without a strong true post.

Oregon State must find their 3-point shot. Goodman, Pivec and McWilliams all need to score. They don't have the inside presence to hang with Anigwe.

4 of the 5 starters were terrible today for OSU. I can't see that happening 2 games in a row. In addition to the 3 you mentioned, they also need to get something out of Corosdale and Washington.

I'm not sure that I like the 4 guard lineup w/ Goodman starting instead of Washington. Undersized and leaves not much scoring pop off the bench.

One final thought: if Oregon beats Stanford on Sunday, they'll essentially lock up the conference title. If Stanford wins it's a 2 horse race down the stretch. That's of course not mathematically correct, but none of the teams at 7-4 is gonna catch UO and OSU will be fortunate to split the upcoming pair of Civil War games, so they aren't going to gain ground on the Ducks.

For those who didn't get to see it, the game seemed to me a bit strange. Oregon really didn't seem all that intense for much of the game (one player, of course, excepted), Hebard hardly played in the first half, and some of the Cal players would have looked like they were the best 3-point shooters in the country except that Oregon was something like 60% from three.

On the other hand, Anigwe was the Anigwe of two seasons ago, Ionescu seemed to have found her shot, and Sabally continued to make a case for being one of the best players in the Pac 12. So in those ways things seemed like they had been set right. (And Cazorla looked like the Cazorla of the Mississippi State game.). I just hope Oregon hasn't used up all of its offense before Sunday--and can commit to playing decent defense for more than a quarter or a run that gets them ahead.

I'm so impressed with Sabally. She is the best player at her position in the PAC-12. What a superstar. How do you defend her? Look at her stats, unreal. And defensively, she is incredible. While Sabrina gets most of the attention, Sabally is just as important to UO as is Sabrina.
