It’s about time Oregon plays somebody good (that counts), and it’s on the road!

That is kind of dumb after the third game of the season. So who has your team played yet ? If it is not UCONN, Stanford, OSU, Baylor or Oregon then they have not played anyone. And if they have not played any of those five teams that are good then they not played anyone. Those five teams are it.

Whoa, it’s not that serious. There’s been a lot of talk about teams with weak scheduling, but nobody picks on Oregon. That’s not fair, is it?

Of course I understand why they scheduled three cupcakes at the start of the season. It’s because Sabally has been away. You don’t take on anybody halfway decent without one of your best players. Why take that chance? (Wimps)

So who has your team played yet?

My team has played Missouri St, Arizona St, and Montana St.... all much better than what Oregon has played so far.

Oregon’s SOS is ranked 318 out of 352. That’s near the bottom.

If it is not UCONN, Stanford, OSU, Baylor or Oregon then they have not played anyone.

That’s not what I said. That would REALLY be dumb. As I said, I’m just happy Oregon is playing Syracuse (ranked #17) and going on the road (they’re not as good on the road). It should be a decent test for them. Smart people think so anyway.

Sounds like you’re agreeing with me about their soft schedule but taking things a little too far. Syracuse on the road should be a good test for them. We do have to play the games. Surprises can happen. Look at ND. But with a less talented team, they’ve actually challenged themselves more than Oregon has so far.

Gonzaga nearly knocked off Stanford. You didn’t realize that, did you?

Oregon has a good third quarter. They lead 62–46 at the end of the third.

Wasn't able to watch. Looks like Hebard and Ionescu had minimal impacts in the first half, that isn't going to happen too often. Sabally and Boley carried them til others got involved. 81-64 final. Okay result for their first road game. Was this Sabally's first game back since competing w/ the German National Team?

The media goes on and on about UConn relying on 4 players but Oregon got 72 of their 81 points from 4 players today.

Long as you can defend and rebound, 4 players scoring can be enough.

Yes, Very slow start and way off in shooting. Will take the win on the road against a ranked team. Boley was on fire, thankfully.

Hebard had one of her worst games as long as I could remember. Not just scoring but also on defense and rebounding.

Quite a difference between the two. Oregon may have relied on 4 players in this game, but what the media is referring to in the case of Uconn is that they rely on 4 players every game. Sometimes those players do not produce in individual games and then there is no one else to pick up the slack. Every player will have off games scoring-wise and when that happens is when depth comes in handy. those 4 players are not going to be scoring every game.

Yes, Spot on about that. I like the calmness Minyon Moore exhibits on the floor. She is darn quick too.

Yeah, Chavez was their 2nd leading scorer coming into today and she's not 1 of the 4 being referred to in today's game. Giomi, Shelley and Moore have been chipping in as well.

The Carrier Dome is a big wide open arena. Is it hard to play in with depth perception until you get in it and play some minutes? Anyone have thoughts on the open type arenas and who else plays in that type of arena that you know of. No P-12 venues are like that.

We'll see against decent competition, the first game against which was today.

Yes, it was. She has now scored 25 (USA game), 23 and 31 (games with the German National Team), and 23 (today) so far this year, although only the last actually counts of course. The first half seemed to me a game between two teams that couldn't shoot straight (except Sabally), with Oregon shooting something like 20% (or worse) in the first quarter. Graves said that Diana T. told him not to let the team peak too early, and the team, anyway, seems to have taken that to heart, at least during the first half today. In any case, I'll take a road win by 17 over the #17 team in the country (and in a place that has to be a shooter's nightmare), especially when Oregon's A (or, in the first half, B) game was nowhere to be found. Finally, I thought that Moore had a major impact on the game defensively; she also had 10 assists.

I suppose you forgot about the USA team. What is it with Uconn fans away from the Boneyard? Uconn has so of the most knowledgable fans in WCBB, but they also have a group of fans that get offended at any post that questions total Uconn superiority for every year into infinity. Posts such as yours exemplify that mindset.. Why are some Uconn fans so threatened by another team being elevated as the unquestionable #1 team? These evaluations at this time of year are just conjecture based on people's early assessments which take in a variety of factors.

None of these ratings will really mean much becoming more viable as the season progresses. There is a lot of time left to expire until the NCAA, and much can happen. Just because Uconn has to play most, if not all their challenging games before the conference games start, does not mean that every team has to do so. Especially if they have a tough conference to get their challenges in. I wonder If some Uconn fans, due to their impressive run of success get as much enjoyment out of the early high ratings as they do the final standings?

Your psychological assessment here is BS. Nobody was offended or threatened by anything. Well, actually you seem threatened to the point of inventing grievances and then casting them onto a "group of fans."

Think about how you just responded to a comment about whether or not Oregon would rely heavily on more than 4/5 players against quality competition.

I worry it isn't sustainable for us all the way to april if Anna doesnt get over her nerves and Aubrey doesn't start learning the plays and get control of her speed.

Oregon still has a couple more players who can get hot and be one of the 4 scorers you talk about on any given night and that's why they are #1.

Yes, Oregon is quite a bit better than the Huskies. But I think that Ionescu is like having two players. When she was a non-factor today Oregon trailed. When she became a big factor Oregon rolled.
