Denmark is a nice place, Copenhagen a beautiful city. It's expensive, but a single ( I'm assuming he's single) young guy can live comfortable there on 35-40k. I think, not sure, they provide an apartement as well for these guys. He will do fine and have a good time.

Yeah I believe housing is usually covered in these deals.

All good, but David won't live in Copenhagen. On the other hand, $35-40K or so goes further in a town of 50K people 90 minutes away. For expat players, basic housing may be provided & Danish taxes potentially covered by professional teams.

Additionally, Næstved won't provide too many crazy expensive distractions. On the other hand, a young guy away from home could (briefly) get a little lonely. Worse things could happen in Danmark. ;)

Good for him, and best of luck. But warning to his new team -- DO is no Phil Nolan. (Now there is something I never thought I would say about anyone.)

Good for DO. $40k for a 6 month gig and seeing the world does not sound too bad.

And if it doesn’t work out, he has a degree from Cornell and a Masters from UConn, he’ll land on his feet.
He could probably make more money doing something other than BB. He must love the game .
To bad he didn’t have a good fundamentals coach in 8th grade
He has a great body for the sport and his hands were workable.
He obviously had a great attitude to get as many minutes as he did.
Maybe with hard work he will bloom into a basketball player.

The man has an undergrad degree from Cornell as well as a grad degree. Surprised he didn't use them to make more than $35-40K
It is a short season. Most contract also cover housing and all other expenses. Good opportunity to see the world on someone else's dime.

Really? Maybe he wants to have a good time playing basketball and seeing the world before he settles into the cube. The Ivy network for former athletes is incredible - he'll be able to get any kind of job he wants when he's ready to hang em up.
