I kept waiting for the ladies version of "one shining moment", but didn't see it. I LOVE the montage of tournament clips set to music. missed it. anyone know where I can find it?

They had to cancel it this year - they couldn't find any highlights from anyone other than UConn.

If you're referring to what used to be the eminently touching annual "tourney overview" set to music video (such as Miley Cyrus' unquestionably poignant "The Climb" for the 2009 championship team) - it was given short shrift this time around - first appearing on ESPN some time after midnight.

This version is almost as much an infomercial for the electronic dance music band Krewella as it is an homage to the tournament - with constant cutaways to the band's performance - devoting more time to them perhaps than the championship game itself (a whopping 22 seconds).

In any event - Here it is (hyperlinked) - featuring Krewalla's "Alive" - appearing about 1 minute and 19 seconds in - after the discussion.

Enjoy!!

But what an awesome band, and even better autotuned voice.

Indubitably - if you like that sort of thing. ;)

Oddly enough - I prefer my WCBB tournament recap videos to actually place the tournament front and center...

I couldn't watch the entire clip. Phugly.
Understood - hence the "short shrift" disclaimer. ESPN pretty much went with the "Here's the trophy, take a hike" approach to the championship post game.

Speaking of - just re-watched that 2009 video featuring "The Climb" - what a great marriage of music to content. The slow motion of Maya Moore's patented "hang in the air, one-handed layup", Courtney Paris tearfully proclaiming she will honor her guarantee (of returning her scholarship funds)...

And not a single gratuitous image of Ms. Cyrus' performance. Just 2:09 of pure WCBB inspiration...

It is a marketing strategy. Times do change and we live in a world where we are ever evolving and changing. The younger generation has been swept by the rise in popularity in house, electro, and dance music. It is fun, upbeat, and carefree. I personally think that this years media coverage was one of the best. It makes WCBB more modern and appeal to younger ages. Yes basketball is a game with a rich history and tradition. But that is on the court. Off the court, this is the world we live in. How many 12 year old girls are going to want to listen to "one shining moment" while watching their role models. They aspire to be these girls, and this portrays WCBB in a fun, exciting, upbeat way.

thank you snowkot. that is a weeeee bit like i was referring to. highly disappointing:mad: , but it gave me enough of the taste that i WANT the real thing now. someone needs to come up with the women's version of a One Shining Moment (there's a lot of up-tapped talent on the boneyard, peoples...come on, someone---please...take pen to paper and start lyricizing):)
also, snowkot, do you have the link to the "2009 The Climb" championships highlights? i used to be able to view it on youtube but the link appears to be disabled because of royalty rights or something along that line. thanks again!

I thought for sure ESPN was going to have a "3 to See" memorial at the end, but instead they ended with a UCONN win - how disappointing for some !!!
