The same can be said when Koufax was scheduled to start. He was right of course. He said the same thing about Koufax. Even at a young age, I could tell who the future hall of famers were when they came to town. e.g., Mays, Musial, Aaron, Gibson, Clemente, Spahn, Randy Johnson, Ozzie Smith, Mike Schmidt, Ernie Banks, Steve Carlton, Sever, Drysdale, Glavine, Eddie Mathews, Robin Roberts, Marichal, The Express (Nolan Ryan), etc. Too many to mention here, but you knew them when you saw them.
