As a parent this is equal to a Championship ring. The kid can have the ring, the parent wants academic accolades/success.

As for Omar the kid went through a lot last season, and still remained focused in the classroom. I envy him, although its much too late for me.

Student Athlete Personified. Great job Omar, Pat, and Leon!

Great job! Surprised Shabazz wasn't there. Think that $ got him to slack of his last semester?

Pretty hard while focusing on winning a NC, dealing with all the media and attention from that, and then preparing for the NBA Draft as a senior. He's still getting that diploma though. Bottom line.

Not criticizing. It would get me to worry less about my grades with a 7 figure job lined up.. And he graduated

Someone at UConn who is in a position to know told me in his senior year Bazz opted for a course in Physics.

Great for Bazz! Never seemed to shy away from a challenge. His grades might have suffered a bit, but I'm sure they were still pretty good. Kid was never short on effort. Real credit to the program.

No! Very good student. 3.0 average. I was just surprised not to see his name there. But as someone said: busy semester!

Very proud of Omar being a great teammate on and off the court. I am expecting a solid bounce back year from him.

It is the most basic physics that they offer, but still, good for him.

Lab science requirement?

Yes

Not trying to discount these guys or anything because I respect them as much as every single Boneyarder out there. But Leon was in my calc class this past semester and I could count on one hand the amount of times he showed up. I also know someone in the same physics class as Bazz that didn't know he was enrolled until he showed up for the final.

It makes sense though, playing basketball for a school of our caliber, or any D1 school for that matter, is a full time job. The fact that they are able to perform at the highest levels on the court and still maintain their grades is nothing short of remarkable.
