With their 5th consecutive gold medals, Sue & DT broke an 8-way tie for the most consecutive gold medals in a single event. The other 6 Olympians, all men, had 4 consecutive medals. They included a Danish sailor, a Japanese wrestler, a Cuban wrestler and 3 Americans: Michael Phelps, Carl Lewis and Al Oerter.
