On Saturday Feb 3 at 10am the US Olympic Marathon Qualification races take place in Orlando. Expected temps 60-70° start to finish. UConn alum Emily Durgin will be in the field. New to the distance she is approx 18th for women's Marathons completed in the last 3 years. A top 10 finish would be a great accomplishment at this stage, but these races are very unpredictable despite their comprehensive approach to training and preparation.

If you are aware of other runners with CT ties please add to this thread. The races will be live on Peacock 10am and delayed on NBC. Good luck to competitors tomorrow and in Paris.

Pack of 10 or so leading women's race early. It's a fast pace. Emily Durgin has gone with the lead pack. Long way to go.

Half way there's a pack of 12 women leading. Durgin still there. They won't all be there at the end.
Amazing run by Zack Panning so far on the men's side.

Okay this is insane. Emily Durgin in the top 5 pack after mile 18. Fantastic run regardless of the outcome.

Emily faded over the last 2 miles but that's what can happen when you run for a spot instead of a time. Still a top 10 finish pushing at the front for most of the race is a very positive result. Our top finishers have a chance to contend in Paris.
