Great stuff. But Evina’s scheduled to leave UConn this spring, which means she’ll have to let go of her young charges and hope that her guidance has been enough. All of which got me to thinking…. Already this year a couple of Louisville seniors have announced that they’re planning to use their extra year of “covid eligibility” and will return next season. Which got me to thinking…. At times this season Evina has appeared as though she might not be playing at 100%. During SNY’s “UConn Undefeated 2014 2016” show, the [URL='https://www.youtube.com/embed/chLcBpeeM8U?noapp=1&rel=0&autostart=1&start=1708&end=1915']players talked about how when they were injured, it was easier being at UConn[/URL] than in the WNBA because at UConn “you kind of have a built-in network and don’t have to figure it out on your own”. Which got me to thinking…. If Evina is still working on her health, being able to avail herself of UConn’s world-class medical/training staff for free for another year wouldn’t hurt. And in the meantime she could also work on her media game with UCTV Sports. And Isuneh Brady and Ayanna Patterson could definitely use a “Great-Grandma E” to help guide them through their freshman seasons at UConn. A win-win if ever there was one. I’m thinking one of the reasons E came back this season was because she had a feeling this team was right on the brink of becoming something really special. Unfortunately, events this season have conspired against them. However [I]next[/I] season is starting to shape up as being an extra special one. Senior Day is scheduled to occur this Sunday 2/27, so there’s still time to change minds about leaving.
