Since day 1, KO has preached UConn as a family/brotherhood who will fight for each other, and you really saw it this past year when there was nothing to play for besides the name on our chest and your fellow brother.
This concept has not gone unnoticed, and it seems as if it was this mindset that made UConn the easy choice for D.Ham

So Hamilton remembers the Mich St game from early November? Pretty cool.

You never know what will impress a young man. Meeting Ray Allen while on your visit is a given, but you never know about other things...

You know, if we can keep this going and add to Hamilton a few more recruits, say guys named Moore, Voskuhl, and El-Amin, I predict some good times ahead.

The idea that a player or a team has nothing to play for if they are not allowed into the NCAA tournament is highly flawed. Every player on every team wants to win every game no matter what does not await at the end of the regular season.

I agree berti - but the perception to a 17 year old may be a lot different.

I think the effort of the guys over the past season was remarkable and it is a testament to their belief in KO that they kept it up for as long as they did. I think over the last 3 or 4 games with the fact that they just had nothing left to play for their effort fell off, but the impact that a horrible season would have on recruiting would have been felt for years if they had just mailed it in all year.

I think injuries played a bigger role over the last 3 or 4 games than effort did. Without Shabazz, this team was nowhere near as effective. Bazz, Omar, Giffey and TO were all hurt at the end of the season,

This is the final nail on the coffin for those that say Ollie can't recruit. The other nailed coffin that says he can't coach is in the earth.

I'd have to agree with bass ...........wolf being out, injuries to Omar, Bazz and Tyler piled up and there was no sense of decreased energy and passion despite these things!

I am really intrigued with how this team will react knowing they have so much to prove yet now have a pot of gold on the other end to play for......should be real fun!!

I actually thought they showed more effort those last few games. They had 5 guys out when you add in Wolf. Giffey was playing center BEFORE he was injured! The win over Providence was all blood and guts.

Indeed. Providence had lots of talent and UConn gutted it out with a very depleted roster.
