This is a very well written article about the immediate impact Ollie's extension will have on recruiting, particularly for class 2014.

"But with the vast majority of the nation’s top 2013 prospects already committed or winding down their recruitment, it’s clear Ollie and his staff have targeted the Class of 2014 as their first true opportunity to make a recruiting splash.

They’ve laid the groundwork with Okafor, Terrell and Abu along with several other ESPN 60 prospects like Shaqquan Aaron (Seattle/Rainier Beach), Daniel Hamilton (Los Angeles/Saint John Bosco), Ahmed Hill (Augusta, Ga./Aquinas), Jordan McLaughlin (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif./Etiwanda), Kelly Oubre (Fort Bend, Texas/Bush) and Craig Victor (New Orleans/Saint Augustine).

With Ollie’s extension done and the program’s future more settled, the task at hand now becomes getting two or three of those guys to say yes to joining the next generation of a very proud Connecticut program."

I had no idea Jahil Okafor is Emeka's cousin. He is the number 2 player in the country, and would def solve our front court issues lol

I want Ahmed Hill, Abdul Malik-Abu, Shaqquan Aaron, Craig Victor, and a true pass first PG.

I like Jared Terrell a lot too. He was at our game last week and congratulated KO on twitter for his extension. I think we have a really good chance with him.

Yeah. I really like him and he seems to really want to play with Abdul Malik-Abu who also congratulated KO.

Any of those 10 kids listed would be fantastic pick ups. Okafor is going to be tough. Hamilton is supposedly going where his brother goes. The other eight all seem more likely.

Malik-Abu and Terrell look really good for us right now. Ahmed Hill is looking good as well, but he's getting a lot of looks he's improved a ton over the last year.

Okafor will be very hard. Hopefully Emeka will help us.

Emeka has an pre- existing relationship with his cousin (prior to being recruited) - not a problem

Thank you, Chief. You answered a question I put in another thread regarding Emeka's potential, and much hoped for, involvement. I don't' know much about his ulterior interest in recruiting his cousin for Uconn but I don't see any reason why KO shouldn't prod him on. Is that legal for KO to ask Emeka? How would anyone ever find out?Through a wire tap?
