I was perusing the Australian WNBL website and came across two UConn favs... 2006 grad Barbara Turner (Bendigo Spirit) and 2010 grad Kaili McLaren (UC Capitols). Neither are exactly tearing it up stat-wise. Both played in Turkey recently also.

Kia Nurse is also in the WNBL on the 3rd place UC Capitols and is doing well, averaging near 18 mpg (35% shooting).

Actually, Kia is close to 18 ppg (which I know is what you meant to say, and 6th in the league) while 3rd in the league in average minutes per game (mpg) at 34.82.

Turner has been released.

At 34 (I think), I hope Barb has some irons in the fire beyond playing hoops. I always loved her energy and hustle as an undersized post player at UConn.

Oppenents corner: 2016 ND grad Lindsay Allen was named WNBL player of the month for the 2nd place Melbourne Boomers. In the WNBA, Lindsay is a teammate of fellow Domer Kayla McBride (in Russia this winter) and UConn's Moriah "MoJeff" Jefferson. Love the Boomers name and always enjoy Melbourne!

Thanks loads for this: Kaili and the BT express. Kaili was responsible for a win over LSU (so said their coach) and BT along with Willnet (BT played dehydrated and calf cramp) taking on Bales from Duke who was 6 inch and 30 pounds bigger. Shea was terrific under the board but BT at less than 5/10 was amazing. Thanks for not forgetting two that didn't win an NC --only proves at UC NC's are nice but great play is long remembered.

Ummm McLaren and Turner both won 2 NC's.

I believe that Megan worked out with the BTX this summer. I got the impression that Barb was a personal trainer as well as a player.
